We have started to ring and are following the CCCBR guidelines

However local rules are

  • Masks when ringing will be optional
  • Visitors should check with the tower captain (see below) before attending so that numbers can be managed

St Mary's has a peal of 8 bells, tenor 19-1-4 in E

There is a strong band of ringers, which regularly ring on a  

Thursday 20:00-21:30 for practice

Sunday 09:00-09:30 for morning worship

The bells were cast by various bellfounders between 1590 and 1768.  Note: for weights of bells the foundries and ringers continue to use hundredweights (cwt.), quarters (qtr.) pounds (lb.).  The tenor, the heaviest bell of the ring, weighs 19cwt.1qtr.4lb. (1000 kg).
